Outdoor kitchens and gourmet BBQ recipes

I spent the whole of today frantically hunting around for gourmet recipes to try out this coming weekend. Actually, my parents are coming over to our place this weekend on their anniversary and we want to make the occasion a very special one for them. My husband suggested having a barbecue in our backyard, which is a good idea considering the fact that the weather is so pleasant at this time of the year. Moreover, my parents just love the outdoors and a barbecue is something that we have never done together as a family before.

I am really excited because this will give us the chance to use our new outdoor kitchen for the first time since we bought it last month. We bought the Big Green Egg, which promises a phenomenal cooking experience. This highly versatile outdoor cooker is a smoker barbecue, a barbecue grill, and an oven all in one. What I really like about it is the fact that I can actually cook entire meals inside it in a jiffy. For example, I can cook a dozen pancakes at a time or a dozen grilled cheese sandwiches in the backyard.

This weekend, I plan to make barbecue steaks in it, because they can be cooked to a precise degree of “doneness” at high steakhouse temperatures that sear in savory juices and flavors. The slow, low temperature smoker bbq cooking will gradually develop our favorite wood chip flavors and tenderize meat to its juiciest best. I also plan to toss some veggies on the cooking grid too, for a quick, convenient side dish. The next morning, I plan to surprise my parents with freshly baked bread, homemade pizza, and home baked pies baked in my Big Green Egg Grill. I know that this BBQ experience is one that my parents will never forget!

New appliances for the kitchen

We are organizing our annual rewards function at our company these days and I have been given the task to oversee the preparations. I also been given the responsibility of purchasing the items we will be giving away at the function. My boss has requested me to do some research and find out where we can get the items we wish to purchase at the lowest rates. Since many of our employees have requested various types of Kitchen appliances, I checked online at ShopWiki, which is a site that finds every store on the internet by crawling like Google.

I was able to find Food Processors, Stand mixers, Hand mixers, Trash compactors, and Dinnerware on sale, so I purchased those items for my employees. Since I got substantial deals and saved a lot, I am sure my boss will be happy. My employees will also be happy to receive such useful items as gifts this year.

Protein snacks

These days, due to so much computer use, people end up sitting for most of the day. Sitting at the computer day in and day out results in a gain in weight sooner or later. This gain in weight due to lack of exercise, coupled with wrong eating habits, is leading to a number of health problems amongst today’s population. One of the ways to avoid weight gain and its related health problems is to eat right. Protein snacks have assumed significance because they help those on a weight loss program. I myself have bought lots of protein snacks which I always eat instead of unhealthy food. There are a number of delicious protein diet snacks and desserts available. I find that they provide the perfect balance of protein, carbohydrates and fats for maximum fat-reduction and weight loss.

Pizza lover

Ever since I can remember, I have been a pizza lover. However, of late, I have been concerned about reports of there being MSG in the pizzas which I eat. As you must be aware, MSG is not good for health. Eating it once in a while won’t harm you. On the other hand, if you make it a habit and eat it frequently, you may end up with long-term negative effects on your health. This is a real problem for me because I am somewhat of a pizza addict. It is difficult for me to resist the cheese and other toppings used. Moreover, I am thin, so I can get away with eating lots of pizza. I think what I will do is ask each restaurant owner if they use MSG before I decide to order from them.

Oily french fries

Did you know that the french fries you eat at fast food restaurants are super oily? I am sure you probably already know that fries are oily (that is how they are supposed to be, right?) but I am doubly sure that you did not know just how oily they are. I actually saw a video in which a guy made a painting using the oil from one serving of french fries. There was just so much oil in those fries, that he was able to fill a large canvas. Isn’t that disgusting? I mean, all that oil is going into your body and clogging your arteries. After watching that video, I have decided to stop eating french fries altogether. I will also make a habit of eating raw garlic, so that I can dissolve the cholesterol that must have already built up in my arteries till now.
