Hamilton Watch Company was an American brand established in 1892, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania State. The Company’s first model was a pocket watch “Broadway Limited”. It was adopted by the railway service of USA for its precision. Introduction of a high quality reliable watch known for its accuracy was the key in reduction of accidents. Continued efforts for keeping high standard of time measurement harbingered American army’s acceptance of Hamilton watch Company as the official supplier for their watches, in 1920. The 11th Infantry Division of US used Hamilton watches, during First World War. But during the Second World War they stopped making watches for public and focused on army based production only.

The Ventura model made by Hamilton was a sensation. Presented in 1957, it was a very special quartz watch that took Hamilton three years to design and develop. It became fashion rage when, Elvis Presley wore it in the movie “Blue Hawaiian”, in 1961. The original model Ventura had its movement and design modified several times for subsequent adjustment to changing fashions. 2007 was celebrated by the brand as 30th anniversary by presenting an automatized version. After two years another model “Ventura XXL Automatic” was issued to the public in 2009. It has striking features with a bigger dial 42mm, transparent case back and waterproof reliability at 500m depth and automatic mechanism ETA 2824-2. They were issued in a very limited edition.

The use of this watch by Holly Wood artists has completely changed the perception of beauty and elegance. Hamilton Watches were worn by Men in Black and characters in movies like Lethal Weapon, Fight Club, Independence Day and Die Hard and others. The watch’s use by famous persons is a true indication of its distinct classiness; however it’s also a good indication of its high cost. The high cost problem is solved by the fake Hamilton Watches, which are available for a fraction of the cost. They have same weight and accuracy as the original Hamilton Watches. My workload has increased over the past several months, and it has gone to the extent that sometimes I have to bring my work home with me in order to finish it on time. If I had a laptop at home, I could easily finish all the extra work. However, due to my financial constraints, I am unable to buy a new laptop. I voiced my problem to one of my friends, who informed me that it was not necessary to buy a new laptop at all. This is because there are many companies out there who are offering laptop rentals at rock bottom prices. Thus, I have decided that this is a good option for me, and will be renting out a laptop soon.

There are a few birthdays coming up this month, and hence I have been trying to think up some nice gift ideas for the concerned people. I am sick and tired of presenting them with the same old stuff year after year. This year I want to present them with something that is not only attractive, but also functional as well. Not something like flowers, because they wither away after a few days and are soon forgotten. I think what I may give this year are paintings, to be placed on their living room walls. That will surely not be missed, and they will remember me daily every time they see the painting on the wall.
