Buying a house has never been easy. There are so many aspects that need looking into, that the very thought of buying a house makes a person nervous. My parents felt this nervousness recently when they decided to sell their old house and buy one closer to my house. They asked me to help them out in the process of buying Jacksonville NC real estate, so I was with them day in and day out while they searched amongst the houses shown to them. Searching for a realtor was also a big headache. Luckily they were able to find some good Jacksonville NC houses for sale. Now my parents are well settled and happy.

The travel bug has bitten me lately. I feel like traveling all over the world so that I can experience the different cultures that exist. It is really a great way to enhance one’s knowledge about this world. However, due to the recession, I have not been able to put together enough money for buying plane tickets and renting good hotel rooms.

I was complaining about this to one of my friends, who advised me that I should not just read up about travel in general, but rather read something like a Budget Travel Blog which would have more information specifically about saving money while traveling. If you know me, you know that I try to save money wherever possible, as I believe that money saved is money earned. That is why I have made up my mind that I will only travel if I get cheap flights and cheap airline tickets. That way, I will be able to travel to more places in the same amount of money.

I received a Book rental account at Booksfree.com from my son as a Father’s Day gift. I believe it was the most appropriate gift I could have received because we spend summers at our summer home which is really in the boondocks. The closest library is 12+ miles away, so it was most convenient to use their service for Book rentals. I didn’t keep track of how many of their books I read, or how many of their Audio books on cd I listened to, but I know it was a sizeable number. I don’t think I’ve ever found a service to Rent books that equals theirs in value. After months of being a customer, I’m still amazed at the fact that I can get all of the books I care to read at such a reasonable price per month. And the fact that I can get them through my reading list with so little effort on my part makes it even better. There are no due dates and they offer free shipping. Moreover, you have the ability to donate books for credits. The best thing is that there are no commitments because you can cancel anytime. And their customer service is outstanding. On the rare occasion I’ve had an issue with my account, their customer service has always been very prompt and courteous. The responses I’ve gotten have always exceeded my expectations. It makes me feel like I’m really valued as a customer and I’ll be well taken care of in the future.

One of my friends is planning on buying a custom laptop very soon, but because she is in a bad financial shape, she is unable to get together the money she needs for her new computer. Outdoor kitchens and gourmet BBQ recipes

I spent the whole of today frantically hunting around for gourmet recipes to try out this coming weekend. Actually, my parents are coming over to our place this weekend on their anniversary and we want to make the occasion a very special one for them. My husband suggested having a barbecue in our backyard, which is a good idea considering the fact that the weather is so pleasant at this time of the year. Moreover, my parents just love the outdoors and a barbecue is something that we have never done together as a family before.

I am really excited because this will give us the chance to use our new outdoor kitchen for the first time since we bought it last month. We bought the Big Green Egg, which promises a phenomenal cooking experience. This highly versatile outdoor cooker is a smoker barbecue, a barbecue grill, and an oven all in one. What I really like about it is the fact that I can actually cook entire meals inside it in a jiffy. For example, I can cook a dozen pancakes at a time or a dozen grilled cheese sandwiches in the backyard.

This weekend, I plan to make barbecue steaks in it, because they can be cooked to a precise degree of “doneness” at high steakhouse temperatures that sear in savory juices and flavors. The slow, low temperature smoker bbq cooking will gradually develop our favorite wood chip flavors and tenderize meat to its juiciest best. I also plan to toss some veggies on the cooking grid too, for a quick, convenient side dish. The next morning, I plan to surprise my parents with freshly baked bread, homemade pizza, and home baked pies baked in my Big Green Egg Grill. I know that this BBQ experience is one that my parents will never forget!

Today I was looking at the finance section in the newspaper and read an article about the fact that the price of gold has skyrocketed. This is really good news for me because I have a number of gold coins as well as gold jewelry that I have been wanting to sell, but had just not thought proper to sell at the low prices that were prevailing previously. I am really glad I had the intelligence to buy gold coins at the right time and did not sell when prices were low, as I would not have been able to make much of a profit back then. Now I can make a much better profit, and plan to sell my gold items now itself, before the prices fall once again.
